Cowboy is a double dilute, which means he will give you a palomino or buckskin foal (depending on the base color of the mare) for any non-grey mare! We can not guarantee the color of foal on Grey mares as the grey gene is usually dominant and while the foal may be born palomino or buckskin, the gene can turn the foal grey. However any black based mare, will give you a buckskin unless she carries a dun gene, then you could have a dunskin. Any red based mare would give you a palomino foal unless she carries the dun gene, then you could get a dunalino. So as you see, genetics can be tricky, however Cowboy can not foal a non diluted color foal, all his foals will have the sweet cowboy color that everyone loves so much!
Cowboy is very sweet, affectionate and easy to handle. He has an awesome temperament that we strive so hard for in our horses, has a great conformation and nice natural muscling.
We obtained Cowboy in 2016 during breeding season, he had not stood to the public previously. Prior to us owning Cowboy, he was basically, broke to ride then turned on several hundred acres and bred only a few mares over the years. I had bought an AQHA grulla mare in 2015 that was in foal by Cowboy. She delivered us at stunning buttermilk dunskin filly. So when the opportunity arrived for us to get Cowboy, we was more than thrilled at the opportunity!
